Learning Spanish with Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone
Learning a foreign language can be very exciting but also a little overwhelming. One of the most popular languages that people strive to learn
is Spanish. Learning Spanish can help you not only with an upcoming trip but in many business aspects as well.
Nearly one-third of the world’s population speaks Spanish. This language is widely spoken in virtually every country in the
world by natives and those who are bi-lingual. Learning Spanish is easily done when you know where to start.
Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur both provide wonderful programs that can teach you Spanish easily.
If you need to learn quickly for an upcoming vacation or simply want to expand your language portfolio then these two programs are excellent
choices.
It is recommended that you supplement them with each other since each provides an aspect of language learning that the other lacks.
Pimsleur Spanish I, II, & III Complete Courses

Dr. Paul Pimsleur
Levels I, II & III. Includes 48 hours of spoken language practice in ninety 30-minute audio lessons...
When you are ready to begin your learning process of the Spanish language be sure that you are committed to spending the time that you need
to learn the basics. The time that you spend learning the language is by far the most important factor in the learning process.
The more time you spend with the programs that you choose, the faster you will become a fluent Spanish speaker. You should make a point to
listen and read Spanish every day. The Pimsleur program offers CD’s that you can take with you in the car or wherever you are headed.
Each day’s program lasts for approximately thirty minutes. Be sure to listen to the lessons each and every day. The Rosetta Stone program is
done via computer software. You can spend a half hour or so every day with this program as well.
Learning the Spanish language will not take as much time as you may think but you must be committed to allowing the time that is needed if you
are planning to become fluent in both speaking and understanding Spanish as well as reading and writing the language.
You will need adequate time and a quiet area in which to focus on your lessons. One of the most important things that you need to remember is
that learning this language or any foreign language is your own responsibility. You need to motivate yourself for the learning process.
If you do not really want to learn to speak Spanish fluently then you simply will never succeed. It is also a good idea to practice speaking
the language as often as you can. If you do not know someone with whom you can practice speaking then consider visiting a restaurant in your area
that is based on the Spanish language.
The more you speak a new language the sooner you will master it.
Probably the best advice for learning any new skill is to enjoy yourself. Both of the above mentioned programs have a fun approach to learning
the Spanish language. This is an excellent aspect as you will feel more relaxed and less like you are being forced into the learning process.
Your mastery of Spanish will take much less time than you probably think. You will gradually become more and more fluent and before you know
it you will be ready to head to a Spanish speaking country and feel comfortable knowing that you will have no problems communicating.
