Learning Russian with Pimsleur or Rosetta
Stone
The Russian language is the most widespread language of
Eurasia as well as the most widely spoken of all Slavic
languages.
Russian is the largest native language
in all of Europe. The Russian language is part of the family of
Indo-European languages and is one of three living members of
the East Slavic languages, along with Belarusian and
Ukrainian.
This language is widely used today in all parts of the
world. Approximately one quarter of the entire world’s
scientific literature is written and published in Russian.
The Russian language is also applied as a means of coding
and storing universal knowledge. Nearly seventy-five percent of
the entire world’s information is published in the English and
Russian languages.
If you are planning to learn the
Russian language for business purposes, personal reasons or for
an upcoming trip to Russia then you may be very excited about
your new skill.
Learning any foreign language is an exciting venture and can
be accomplished very quickly and easily if you are committed

remember that you learned once to speak your native
language and you can learn a second language much easier.
If you are planning to teach yourself
Russian, as opposed to taking courses at your local college or
university, you can do so easily with the aid of foreign
language programs. Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone both offer
wonderful learning resources for those looking to master
their skills in foreign languages.
Both offer Russian language learning courses and they
complement each other very nicely. While one offers reading and
writing lessons overall, the other offers a wonderful CD
program which will allow you to hear the language spoken while
you are learning.
Committing just an hour each day for both programs combined
will help you to quickly and easily master your new language
skill.
As with any foreign language you must have the ability to
focus on the lessons. You will want to ensure that you devote
the required time each day to learning this new language skill.
Be sure that you set aside time daily for learning Russian.
Your motivation may come from the ability to communicate
with friends and family, business reasons or an upcoming
vacation.
Whatever your reason you must devote the time needed if you
plan to speak Russian fluently.
While Russian is not any more difficult to learn than any
other foreign language you will want to ensure that you
adequately master the skill of speaking as well as reading and
writing this language.
Keep in mind that with any learning process motivation is
key. You must keep yourself motivated if you plan to comprehend
and retain the information that you are learning. The two above
listed programs both offer wonderful and fun lessons that will
help you to stay excited about learning this new language.
From images to audio, these programs give you a fun approach
to the learning process. This is very important to keep you
motivated and to keep you from losing interest in learning
Russian. Taking the time that is needed to become fluent in
speaking the language and reading and/or writing is important
particularly if you are learning Russian due to business
reasons.
Devoting adequate time to the learning process will ensure
that you master your new language skills quickly and
easily.
