Learning French with Pimsleur or Rosetta
Stone
French has often been referred to as the Language of Love.
The French language is currently spoken by approximately 350
million people throughout the world.
There are currently fifty-four
countries that hold populations of French speaking
individuals.
Many schools including high schools and universities have
French speaking courses and in some areas this language is
required of students to learn.
The French language may actually seem more complicated than
it is. Those who do not speak the language may feel that it is
overwhelming when they first begin learning.
Although it may seem difficult it actually is not. If you
are planning to learn to speak, read and/or write in the French
language you should expect to spend a couple of months on the
actual learning process.
Keeping yourself motivated is highly
important. If you are planning a vacation to a French speaking
country then use this as your motivation to learn the language.
You will enjoy your trip much more if you are able to
communicate with those around you.
If you are learning French for other reasons then simply
find something worth your while that will keep you focused on
your learning experience. Lack of motivation is the main reason
that people fail in the learning process.
Keeping yourself motivated and determined to master the
French language will help you more than you could possibly
imagine.
That being said, there are many foreign
language learning aids that can also help you considerably. If
you are not taking a formal class or learning French through a
school or university you may want to consider investing in one
of these aids.
Both Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone offer wonderful
learning programs that can help you to master the French
language easily and much more quickly than you may
think.
Pimsleur French I & II Complete
Courses
Dr. Paul Pimsleur

language practice in sixty 30-minute audio lessons...
Each offers its own strong point with regards to what
aspects of the language that they teach. You can spend just an
hour or so each day with these two programs and be well on your
way to speaking fluent French within just a matter of weeks.
For those who find it difficult to learn or to stay motivated,
these two programs offer a fun and exciting approach to the
learning process that makes them very helpful for virtually
everyone.
Finding your program is important. You must ensure that the
program you choose to teach you French is designed in such a
way as to keep you excited about learning. You should ensure
that the program you choose has all the aspects that you want
to learn.
For instance, if you want to only learn to speak French then
you may be able to save time and money by choosing a program
that only focuses on the speaking aspects of the language. It
is of course recommended that you learn all aspects of any
foreign language that you are studying.
This is to simply help you with better communication of the
language overall. It is particularly important to learn the
reading and writing aspects if you are planning to visit a
French speaking country. You should strive to practice your new
skills as often as possible. If you have a French restaurant in
your area then visit there often. You can try out your new
language skills as well as enjoy some delicious cuisine all in
the name of learning.
