A Guide to Waterbeds in Europe
Before buying a waterbed, one should be aware with the
construction and various systems involved in the working of a
waterbed. Charles Hall introduced first modern waterbed in 1968,
which he invented in order to overcome his various physical
ailments.
Even today, it is popular due to its curing health issues.
Before buying one must know the complete usage, working, benefits,
and precautions of a waterbed.
Classification of Waterbeds
Waterbeds are classified as hard-sided water beds and soft-sided
waterbeds. These two types are differentiated on the basis of its
construction and usage. A hard-sided waterbed has a
water-containing mattress inside a rectangular frame of wood. It is
a classic form of waterbed, which is difficult to move due to its
rigid and inflexible framed sides. A soft-sided waterbed consists
of a water-containing mattress inside of a rectangular frame of
sturdy foam. This type of waterbed is more in use these days due to
its easy mobility and conventional size.
Motion Systems
There are four types of motion systems that are applied on the
two types of waterbeds discussed above. This motion system helps in
controlling the natural actions of the basic free-flowing waterbed
and is also helpful in wave-reduction methods. The different motion
systems include various quantities of water chambers, fiber
batting, and air chambers. Various motion systems include –
* Free-Flow: There is no motion reduction in this type of
mattress and it also does not contain any fibers such as
wasserbett
* Semi-Waveless: This type of mattress gives 50% of motion
reduction. It is stable when properly filled and includes
wasserbetten
* Waveless: There is 75% of motion reduction in waveless. This
type is extremely stable and is easy to move and transport.
* Ultra-Waveless: There is only 95-99% of motion reduction in
this type of mattress and has little or no movement at all. It is
very comfortable and takes the body shape of the person.
Dual Systems
There is always a possibility of inconvenience and a difference
of opinion while sharing a bed by two persons. Dual systems, also
known as dual bladder systems, gives the benefit of choosing
sleeping preferences individually for both sides of the beds for a
hard-sided or soft-sided waterbed. It supports individual
preferences regarding heating, motion systems, and lumbar support
system. A lumbar support system provides support in the mid and
heavier regions of a body.
Choosing the Right Waterbed
Apart from understanding the above discussed features of
waterbeds, one should also gain complete knowledge regarding the
other features of waterbeds which include its heating system,
sizing, fill levels of waterbeds, and waterbed component
construction.
This may help you in choosing the right waterbed in accordance
with your needs and requirements that would provide you the desired
comfort.
